“The Maritina Villa is a great traditional Greek Villa. The house is entirely made of stone giving you the feeling of a very authentic experience. The location is very secluded surrounded only by Olive Trees and serenity. The house is very well appointed. The kitchen has everything you would possibly need. There is air conditioning, but we did not even need it due to the fabulous breezes created when you open all of the windows in the bedrooms.

When we arrived we were greeted by Manos, the owner of the house. He showed us around, gave us ideas of things to do in the area (plus wine, raki and olive oil!), then left us to ourselves. Upon departing, he gave us a parting gift of olive oil from his olive farm to take home with us. Our stay is exactly what you look for from a rental property: The feeling that you have someone to help you if need be, but, if you don\'t, all of the privacy you would expect. ”
“I was very impressed with the location and quality of the villa. It is exactly as shown in the pictures and is very well equipped. You do need a car, but not really a problem. It has a really beautiful view and is perfect for a family holiday. The only small improvements I would mention are perhaps some better lighting in the bathrooms which are a little dark. The rest is perfect, and the owner was very nice and helpful supplying initial food and drink for us arriving on a Sunday night. Many thanks. While peaceful throughout the week, it can get a little noisy on Friday and Saturday nights when the nice people of Crete let their hair down. Great Villa.”
“Wonderful villa with fantastic views of mountain, landscape and sea! Very well equipped and comfortable. Great pool area with a fabulous BBQ eating area. All bedrooms were large as were the bathrooms. The children absolutely loved the pool and the separate garden area. The villa was cleaned very regularly to a very high standard. Close to sea and many sightseeing opportunities, although the villa and pool area were perfect for lazy days!”
“This was such a great house for us! The owner was very kind and everything was like we were hoped. There were ten of us, seven adults and three children. Everyone fitted well! The pool area is spacy and offers magnificent views to the sea and Platanias village. Thank you very much!”
“Our family, we, our childeren and grandchildern, (6 adults, 3 childern and a baby) had a very nice stay in the villa Del la Mare. It is wonderfull to swim in the pool and you see on one side the sea and on the other side the white mountains and the snow on the tops. The villa isvery nice and when you sit on the balcony you have a beautyfull sight over the sea till Chania. The surroundings are very nice, beautifull beaches, and Chania is very nice to walk around and eat. You can make a trip (walking) from the monestry till Stavros and further on you have the Imbress Gorge. We made also a trip in the white mountains near Amalos Plateau. There you have also the entrance to the Samaria Gorge. Recommanded is a boattrip to Balos Beach. So there is a lot for every one that part of Creta for everyone. ”
“Wir hatten erholsame Tage in der Villa, mit einem seher schönen Garten und Pool. Der Vermiter war seher freundlich und hilfsbereit . Die sauberkeit im Haus etspricht nicht ganz dem Deutschen standart deshalb auch nur vier Sterne. Wir würden gerne wieder in diesem Haus Urlaub machen. ”
“Just to say that we had the best time staying at Villa Keronia in Gavalochori. The Villa was superb, spotlessly clean and comfortable! The small village of Gavalochori is beautiful with the best taverna, Gavalianos, for miles around. Monica, the owner, is very welcoming and an excellent cook! Anestis, who looked after us was full of local knowledge and friendly as indeed were all the villagers. We will definitely be back, we might even bring our husbands next time!”
“The villa was unbelievable fantastic, even better than the pictures, very luxurious feeling in every room and at the pool, great having two livings, with both magnefisant vieuws and a large and sunny terras. Very good maintenance for both the house and de surroundings. A car is absolutely nessecary for trips, beachvisit and shopping for food. For dinner pick a local restaurant, good food an very friendly and kind people! We had a fantastic week.”
“The villa was great, the owner was very helpful and kind, and the place was very good. The villa was perfect for a family, very quiet and furnished of everything, even some food for breakfast at the arrival. We had great time especially thanks to the owner and because of the beautiful villa. It was a pleasure relaxing at the Ios villa.”
“We have spend some wonderful days in Maleme Villa. It was Easter in Greece and we were spoiled by our generous host with biscuits, colored eggs, sweet bread and lamb pie- all home made! We enjoyed the homely atmosphere of this well kept and clean place with its pretty garden and the tempting pool. We were glad that it was only a short drive to Chania, a buzzling village with lots of shops, bars and restaurants nestled in the old venetian buildings. Perfect for teenager to stroll along on their own. Although it takes some driving to get to the sandy beaches along the west coast we recommend those day trips to Falarnassa, to Balos or to Efalonisi. Have a picnic lunch under the olive trees and get some greek food in one of the greek taverns while the sun sets. The 'Deutsche Soldatenfriedhof", just a walking distance from the house, should be visited to make sure that these dark years will never be forgotten. The Samaria Gorge was stunning- a nice combination of walking and getting taken back by boat. May is most probably the best time to visit Crete Island.”
