“My family and I spent a blissful two weeks at Villa Anemos in late July and early August. The view across Gavalochori village to the sea was simply stunning and the pictures on the website certainly do not do it justice. The villa itself was superb - well equipped and very comfortable. Your representative and cleaning staff could not have been more helpful - or generous. Many thanks for the tray of essentials and the gifts of cakes and olive oil later in our stay. They were much appreciated. Can't wait to make a return visit.”

“Maleme House was a very comfortable base for our family holiday. It was well furnished & looked after. We particularly enjoyed the garden and pool. A suggestion to make the accommodation more comfortable is to improve the kitchen equipment. Local fruit and vegetables are delicious so part of our holiday enjoyment is to cook for ourselves. There is a good oven, dishwasher and lots of crockery and we would have appreciated better chopping boards, knives and other utensils. We expected to have young children with us and they would have had difficulty with the open staircases and different levels.”
“Hej Our holidays in Geana Villa were wonderful. The house is perfect and we all enjoy the house very much. We will certainly recommend it to our Danish friends. We have been seing a great part of Kreta, and everywhere we find this Island very very beautiful. We hope to see Kreta once more and we would also like tol visit Geana villa again. King regards Oda Overgaard ”
“I did a lot of research before choosing Villa Joseph, reading the reviews and studying the pictures. What can I say! The pictures don't do it justice, the views are amazing, the villa is big and airy, the verandah perfect for evening meals. Fantastic place to stay.
We were late arriving and it was pitch black so took a wrong turn. John/Yanis came to the rescue and we followed his car to the villa.
In the morning what a surprise - breakfast to last the week, a bottle of chilled white wine, tea, biscuits, yoghurt and it didn't cost us a penny.
Our week was spent quietly, eating in most nights but we did venture out for a couple of meals. The first Taverna down the hill was fine, the view over the lake as the sunset was divine. The second Taverna down the hill, again the food good and a view to die for.
We took a pedalo out on the lake which can be recommended as a way to pass an hour, follow it with a huge ice cream sundae at the Taverna on the Lake edge.
A trip into Rethymno to the old fort was well worth it, again the views lovely, just make sure you take the new road and not the old one. The old road takes 40mins of very windy roads the new road takes 15mins in a straight line! Chania old town by the harbour is a lovely place but very busy with lots of restaurants touting for business. Good for people watching!
A great holiday. Can't thank Yanis/John enough for his care and attention. He brought us another bottle of wine mid week and then on the day we left brought olive oil, raki and biscuits for us. We enjoyed the pool, the gardens and the two feral cats who turned up everyday for food. The weather was perfect. The clear starry nights amazing.
The only niggle we had, although it's down to taste is the bed was too hard for us. We quickly made is perfect by putting a spare quilt under the sheet! They were no stem wine glasses as the locals seem to drink from tumblers so we bought a couple of stem wine glasses which we left behind for the next people.
First class!”
“We stayed at this villa for two weeks in May 2014 and we were wowed by the fantastic views and spacious, modern living accommodation. The villa seemed bigger and better than the pictures suggested and the area is quiet, green and beautiful. This is truly a special place. There was plenty of room for all the family. The cleaner came twice a week with a bed change and clean towels.

The pool is a good size and 2.5 meters at the deep end. The pool is not heated so the water was cool as early in the season, so not yet warmed up but we expected this. The weather was very warm so it was well used but the local beaches are so beautiful we made good use of these too. Ample pool towels were provided. There is a very good BBQ on the lower garden level.

We were disappointed by the weather in the first week as although sunny and warm it was extremely windy for 4/5 days and thought that this may just be a very windy spot. It’s not. Just unusual weather for the time of year.

A car is essential. Close by there are at least five beaches, all with beach bars/tavernas/sunbeds. The food is typically Greek and very reasonably priced. Food is more expensive at the Marina in Chania but expected. There is a small friendly supermarket in Stavros and Kounoupidiana is a 10 minute drive and has a selection of shops and a large Spar and Carrefour. Another 5 minute drive and you are into Chania. Our best meal was at the windmill on Stavros main beach, great food with a little more selection than usual and the setting was beautiful but we didn’t really have a bad meal anywhere. English was widely spoken and everyone was friendly and relaxed.

If you are thinking of booking this Villa, don’t hesitate, you will not be disappointed. ”
“Wir hatten eine wunderschoene Zeit, die Villa ist wirklich super, toller Pool Und sehr nette Gastgeber, kleiner Minuspunkt:die Betten sind zu hart.”
“Very pleasant house was situated in a nice town, the owners are charming and of sound advice, we thank them for the welcome(reception). The villa is ideally situated to visit the part(party) West of the Crete.”
“We have had a good time in Kondomari. The villa in a olive grove was build on a little peak, so we have had a great view to the coast from rodopou to chania. All things you need were in the house. Fly screens on the windows and doors! Only Satellite-TV was missing - only greek TV. The next good baker, supermarket and taverns we reached in a few minutes in Gerani. The location was good to reach some nice beaches and trips to the mountains for hiking. A must have seen was Chania. A very nice oldtown! ”
“My fiancee and I chose Dyonisus Villa because the pictures were very appealing at first, and on-site, the place is even more amazing ! The Landlords are really nice and kind; they waited for us to present the villa and they made us taste the local products (meals, liquor "Raki",cheese, wine, fruits, vegetables..)

The weather was nice and the swimming pool is perfect to enjoy a relaxing sunny day. All the commodities are here, longchairs, garden table and chairs (if you want to lunch outside with a glass of wine... sweet!!!) The view from the balcony of the room is also quite fantastic.

It's very quiet and disconnecting from 'busy city environment'. We strongly recommend it for couples no matter what age, small families, group of friends (all age as well ;) )

The beach is 15 min walking distance ! niiice

The village is 200 meters from the villa, there are small local cafés and restaurants (I recommend to grab a gyros at the little restaurant next to the first butchery -> delicious!)

The highway is close too, if you have a car, you won't get any problem to reach Chania, which is a really nice city to walk around. (and enjoy a cocktail at the bar with the view on the port)

The car rental of chania-rentals is also simple of booking, and the car we had was great and exactly what we needed. C3

It was a perfect 1 week romantic getaway, we enjoyed it together and we will definitely come back, it was amazing ;)

Manuel and Carolina”
“Just returned from a wonderful week at Keronia Villa. Lovely secluded garden with large Pool ideal for all ages. Only 300m from village centre with 2 excellent tavernas. Villa is very well decorated with all amenities including a large kitchen. The villa has 4 large bedrooms and a 5th bedroom with its own sitting room and fridge on the ground floor next to the games room.Perfect villa for the three generations in our party. Huge BBQ. Great location for local beaches and sightseeing in the mountains. About 40 mins to Chania Old Town. We would love to return in the future”
“Villa Joseph is really quiet, comfortable and spotlessly clean It has wonderful views of the lake to the sea in front, and mountains with flocks of sheep behind. The garden and swimming pool are lovely. There are a couple of tavernas, minutes from the villa in the car, serving great traditional Greek food. We arrived to the essentials for breakfast in the fridge and a welcome bottle of wine. Its in an ideal location for visiting different parts of the island and thoroughly recommended. Also Chania Rentals were really helpful with the booking and always got back to me straight away. ”
