“We had lovely 10 days in the Olive Mill Villa. The house is very spacious - enough rooms and sitting areas even for 2 families sharing (we are a family with children aged 2 and 4). All bedrooms and common areas have aircon, there is wifi. The house is well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. It would have been great to have a dishwasher too, but it doesn't seem to be a common thing on Crete.
The owners are incredibly friendly and hospitable, we were welcomed with homemade pies, honey, olive oil, wine and raki. They advised us on local areas, restaurants and trips.
The pool is great, very clean, it had a shallow area for the kids to play in - very useful if you have little ones. The pool area had lots of loungers and enough umbrellas to get shade on a hot day.
The house is on a hill, away from everything, with a beautiful view towards the sea. It's very peaceful and quiet, ideal if you want to relax and get away from everything - especially all tourist areas. Yet, it's only a short (5 minute) drive to the nearest village Emprosneros (with a shop & bakery) and about 15 minute drive to Vrises which has a few supermarkets, restaurants and bars. All in all, we had a lovely holiday, the weather wasn't great, but the facilities were perfect, and we definitely would consider coming back in future! Thank you to Kostas and his family.”
“This Villa is amazing, we were a group of 9 aged 24-34 and just wanted a relaxing holiday in the sun and this is exactly what we got. The villa has everything you would possibly need, a lovely swimming pool, fantastic views and plenty of space. We hired 2 cars which were essential to explore the island. We just want to thank Maria for a wonderful stay and apologise for not seeing her on day of departure as we were going to miss our flight, although could have stayed for another week :) ”
“We got back to Germany yesterday, unpacked our bags today and thought about all the great times we had for the last 10 days in Crete and our stay at Villa Danae!

Kyriakos, the owner, is an incredibly hospitable host and every single detail was just like he said, to include waiting for us to show us the way to the villa upon our arrival. Once at the villa we did a 100% walk-through of the entire place and he answered any and all questions we had and stated "while you are here, this is your home"...that is exactly how it felt too.

As for the Crete trip, absolutely amazing from start to finish whether hanging out poolside a couple days or hitting the beaches others, it was just what we needed, pure relaxation for 10 days. Our personal highlights were the beaches a Falasarno, Chiana (Nick's Glass Bottom Boat tour is a must if you have kids, the shopping, the dock front cafe's and the atmosphere), Somaria Gourge is a must (if you are very fit and like challenge hikes), and most important, get off the tourist road next to the coast and get up into the roads less travelled. It's a different side of the world when you get away from the tourist sites and one that is soo friendly and nice. Our favorite was the drive from Chania to Omalos, don't go all the way up to the town, but you will hit towns with orchards of oranges and lemons and the food at some of the taverna(s) is super and more authentic.

Finally, only down side we had was the wifi is slower than what most are used to and our 3 wired teenagers went into internet withdrawl, this was the only down side. On the brighter side, they all lived to come home and we spent lots of time playing family games and laughing and joking. From a parent perspective, lack of fast internet was a good thing!!!!

In closing a special thanks to Kyriakos, he was a wonderful host and I can not recomment this villa any stronger, it is worth it!!!!! Epfhariso Kyriakos, we hope to return again to visit you and your wonderful island.

”
“Great house, perfect view, nice people. We like it very privately, so for us there was too much "traffic": The owner stayed in the second house (about 20m away and on the same area) a couple of days. Almost every day there were people coming by for pool cleaning, house cleaning, maintenance in the second house. So all in all: awesome, if you don't prefer absolute privacy.”
“Myself, my husband and 3 young children have just returned back from a 2 week stay at this beautiful villa. The owners attention to detail was fantastic. The villa itself is an absolute credit to the owner and he should be very proud for what he has achieved. If you are looking for a villa holiday in a beautiful location with fantastic views, a well equipped villa, do not hesitate to book this. We have had several villa holidays ourselves and this villa is by far the best. Thankyou for a lovely holiday. The hawthorne family ”
“We arrived late at night and were greeted by Stella, the owner of the villa. Stella made us very welcome and had provided basic provisions and beer for us. Later she bought round some hot home-made (by her mum) vegetable pies, which were delicious. There was also a decanter of Ouzo to get us in the holiday mood.

The villa was immaculate and beautifully furnished. There are 2 fully furnished kitchens, which we found very useful. The pool house was adopted by our 21 year old. We had free run of the orange grove and lemon tree and made freshly squeezed juice for breakfast every day.The pool was heaven on hot days and we made full use of it.

Near to the villa, on the way down to the beach, there is a lovely restaurant called 'Perasma'. The lady who owns it is a real character. We ate there twice and especially loved the hot vine leaves. A nice little touch was the small ice creams we were given after each meal. The night before we left, she gave me and my mum a bottle of aperitif each.

Within walking distance from the villa is a tavern called 'The Black Lantern' which is owned by an English man named Graham. We had a really good evening there dancing to old 60's songs.

About 15-20 minutes walk from the villa, there is a German War Cemetery where more than 15000 German soldiers lost their lives during the Second World War in the Greek territory. It is so well tended and such a peaceful place to visit.

Another restaurant we visited was 'Lithos' in Chania. Excellent service and food. 100% recommended

All in all we had a wonderful holiday and would totally recommend this villa. ”
“We arrived at the villa late evening to be welcomed so warmly by the lovely Stella. We were overwhelmed by her generosity, making us marmalade and cookies and filling the fridge with a few essentials.

The villa is stunning. Sometimes photos are taken in such a way to make things look larger, but the villa is exactly as it looks in the photos, beautifully restored, tastefully furnished and wonderfully comfortable. It's only a short walk down to the main road where we caught buses and another few minutes down to the beach. We had the best of both worlds, peace and relaxation at the villa and plenty to do just down the road.

Honestly we had he best holiday ever and if you get the chance to snap up this wonderful property I promise you wont be disappointed! Thank you so much Stella, and thank you to the team at Chania Rentals for making my booking and stay so easy and wonderful!”
“We had a wunderful holiday at Kourkoulios Villa without any problems. The Villa is as nice as the fotos promised; very nice view, green garden full of flowers and fruits, lovely interior, quiet surroundings. We spent long evenings at the huge table on the patio. The owners, Antonis and Eva, invested lot of Money, love and taste in this Villa. The financial thing - deposit and balance - was handled exactly as expected. A rental car is definitely necessary to reach the Villa and to drive to some of the best beaches (located at the south). ”
“Hermes Villa is in the most gorgeous place, with wonderful views. It is amazingly quiet and peaceful. The pool and gardens are lovely. The house itself is great with lots of space for everyone. The owners are very friendly and helpful and we had a great morning riding one of their horses. My one negative comment is that the bathrooms all need a bit of upgrading however, having some dodgy showers, with doors missing and very odd controls.
I would definitely recommend this villa for groups of all ages, and we really hope to return ourselves for another wonderful relaxing holiday.”
“This is a really beautiful vila in an excellent location. It is in the middle of an olive grove, but only five minutes away from the nearest village (Malene), and ten from the bigger Platanias and Agia Marina. It has very nice views; you can see the sea and a beautiful countryside landscape. The house was spotlessly clean and the owners were very kind and helpful. The pictures in the website do not lie. ”
“vi har kost oss kjempemasse i et nydelig hus med flott utsikt over Kretas koseligste by. Det eneste som trekker ned for vår del var alt for harde senger”
“Just came back from a lovely stay at Remvi villa in Chania. Great location, spacious well presented house and one of the best views I've ever seen! Only down side was my toddling baby constantly trying to climb the stairs but we managed to block them off with a sofa! Would recommend highly!”
