“With three couples we were a guest in villa Stema 21-28 September 2015. Having enjoyed everything the home, garden, landscape and the friendly people offered us. The house is fully furnished spacious and clean, in the garden the pool lawn flowers fruit trees and bbq, the view from the house beautifully! Definitely recommended! Vasilis thanks for the hospitality!”

“Superb villa with excellent outdoor spaces and wonderful views across both mountains and sea. Villa was cleaned often including clean towels for bathroom and pool and bed linen each time.”

“I just came back from spending two weeks with some friends( no kids) in this beautiful villa, at the occasion of my 50th birthday.<br><br> As we have been only 5 people in the house, we had a lot of space. 2 kitchens ( one is fully equipped), 3 bathrooms (2 with a window) and one extra WC for visitors. All is clean and neat.<br><br> Furniture is nice and of good quality, beds are comfortable. Aircon works silently.<br><br> Poolarea is superb, pool itself not suitable for children, (1.70 allthrough) but perfect for us.<br><br> There is a very nice scottish lady as a neigbour to the left and a kind of farmer to the right in a good distance.<br><br> Only negative point are the animals of the farmer and there noises: dogs (6 or 7) barking, peacocks sreaming and a cock who is clearly out of his mind, as he tries to wake you up every hour, starting at 3...<br><br> Wonderful viewes, breathtaking sunrise, excellent restaurant nearby ( Georgias taverna-direction Kournas Lake).Attention: you definetly need a car !! The next town is too far away and its also better to explore the wonderful countryside of Apokoronas at your own rythm.<br><br> The owners are very friendly and helpful and water and juices are in the fridge at your arrival.<br><br> I can only recommend this place! ”

“Lovely accommodation with great elevated position over looking Stalos and sea on one side and the white mountains on the other side. We were spoilt for choice in where to sleep as there were five bedrooms and only 2 of us. Recommend hiring a car with a decent size engine as we hired a Car that struggled to get put the hill especially with the Air con switched on.”

“Well back to reality and a UK Autumn ( which actually is not too bad on the South Coast)!<br><br> This stay was our 4th now and I am sure we will be back again next year (funds permitting)! This Villa (Joanna) is beautiful, its owners and the local people kind are friendly and caring, the area around Malame is lush and fairly quiet which is just what you need to recharge your batteries and just kick back.<br><br> You are welcomed with freshly pressed orange juice and water in the fridge and huge peaches and bunches of local grapes on the kitchen table and if you want some basics (tea coffee sugar milk) there ready for your arrival just drop Alexandra and it will be there before you arrive! Lefteris and Alexandra cant do enough to make your stay trouble free and wanting for nothing.<br><br> I get told off for writing these reviews because what you should do when you find a little gem is to keep it to yourself otherwise the word gets out, but it is that good and if you don't believe me try it for yourself ( or the sister Villa (Lefteris) next door I am really confident that you wont be disappointed!<br><br> Nick. ”

“We had a wonderful holiday in June in this beautiful villa. Both Anna and George welcomed us as we arrived the villa. The rooms were cozy and comfortable and there was a lot of space for us, a family of four. The area was quite peaceful and swimmig pool was great as was the barbecue area, which we used a lot. Both Anna and George are very friendly and we had a pleasure to taste Goerge´s own made raki and red wine.<br><br> Thank you Anna and George and hope we see you again !”

“Warm welcome and a Fantastic spot, what more can you ask for<br><br> we have been coming to the Souda region for many years and this is up there with the best, quite peaceful villa and just a 10 min walk to the very friendly village of Plaka with small but eclectic mixture of bars and restaurants, just a couple of miles down the road you also have the great beach at Almerida with an assortment of good places to eat and drink <br><br>if you have your own transport the Ruins at Aptera are a must and no holiday in Crete would be complete without a visit to the old harbour of Chania (even more stunning in the evening), best kept secret is the beaches on the opposite coast called Marathi/Lutraki (30 mins drive or 50 euro Taxi E/W)”

“Great week in the sun. Villa was lovely, very spacious, clean and excellent pool.<br><br> Perfect location for a quiet and relaxing week.<br><br> Totally hassle free dealings with the agents and all round great experience. <br><br> I'd recommend hiring mopeds - great to nip to the shops and to the lake.<br><br> Car definitely needed although there's a taxi that will take you into the local village.<br><br> It is like stepping back in time a little bit - very rural! <br><br> Thank you!”

“A family holiday with 8 adults and 16 month old baby. <br><br>Most stunning views from the villa with easy access to local shops by car. Set on a hill it is peaceful and with the added bonus of our own pool and the games room the family had plenty to do on villa based days during our 10 day stay. The Villa is fully equipped and basic necessities like salt, pepper etc already there having been left by previous guests. Maria the owner is a lovely lady and was available for any problems or requests made. The added bonus of the lift made life easier for my husband and his disability.<br><br> A few observations - the bathroom fittings are looking tired and in need of some TLC (I.e shower jets going everywhere and jacuzzi bath jets needing attention). A couple of the bars separating the baby pool were broken but could be easily fixed.<br><br> All in all the good certainly outweighs the bad here and we all agreed we would certainly love to return to Hermes Villa in the future. ”

“We had the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday ever. We arrived late at night to be greeted by Michaelis, the owner, who showed us round, left us jam & olive oil (all home made) and pointed out his vegetable patch for us to help ourselves. But the morning was a revelation. When we opened the doors to the most stunning views of the hills across the gorge, the sea in the distance, all accompanied by the sounds of goats, sheep & chickens! It was fantastic.<br><br> The villa was well equipped and comfortable, the pool a welcome relief from the heat. <br>Michaelis was very helpful with advice on beaches & restaurants to visit. We went to Falassarna & Lafonisi beaches. Both beautiful & worth a visit. We ate out a lot in Chania & locally. All the food was good and reasonably priced.<br><br> You definitely need a car here as the villa is 5 mins up a steep hill and there are no amenities within walking distance. Car hire through Chania rentals was very efficient. Make sure the car has a big enough engine if there are more than 2 of you.<br><br> If you want a holiday in rural Crete this is the place. Not sure I would recommend it for families with Toddlers, but for over 5s it's idyllic. Would love to go back again. ”
