“Our 2nd trip to Crete and our first to the Olive Mill.

I researched the area well and having used Chania rentals on our first trip I was confident this would be just as good. We also did our car hire through them as well and it was great having someone meet us at the airport with the car outside waiting for us.

On arrival Kostas (the owners son) was waiting to tell us all about the place and showed us around. Loved the villa and pool, plus the covered BBQ and wood oven was a bonus. The area was so quiet and just a mile outside the centre of the village.

We went to Vryses to buy all our provisons which was 10 minutes down the road and gave us a choice of 3 decent supermarkets. The small mini market in the village didn't really carry much of a range but was fine for 'top ups' of milk, bread was best from the bakery around the corner.

The villa was lovely, just about the right amount of everything you need, with the added bonus of a dishwasher! The only negative comment would be the beds but I think that might just be a Greek thing. We like a soft bed and theirs are hard. We got around this by using a duvet under the sheet which then made it just right.

The hospitality of the owner is amazing. Most days we would come home and find a 'present' of some sort. Eggs, cake, cucumbers and tomatoes - in fact every day was a surprise. We were also given a bottle of home made wine, olive oil and raki.

If you want peace and quiet then this is the spot for you. The gorgeous beach of Geogioupoli is just 20 minutes away and well worth a visit. We mainly catered for ourselves but there are plenty of places to eat in Vryses.

I wouldn't hesitate in using Chania rentals on our next visit to Crete!”
“To sum it up, we can't wait to go back. The next time, I'm bringing my snorkel gear. There were earlier reviews that indicated it was difficult to get down to the water due to the boat ramp being washed out. Apparently that has all been repaired. You can walk all the way down the path behind the house and into the ocean. The children had a great time swimming and there is beautiful water and fish. ”
“Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans cette maison. L'accueil est très chaleureux avec quelques victuailles et des conseils de visites. La maison est très agréable, fonctionnelle. Le jardin est joliment arboré et la vue sur la baie est magique ! L'endroit est très calme et bien situé pour découvrir tout l'est de l'île.”
“We had a very relaxing and relaxing holiday in and because of Villa Joseph. Giannis is a very good host. We felt very comfortable from the first day. The garden is fantastic and with a lot of love laid out. The pool does what it should ;-) cool when it gets too warm. The cats have given the kids a lot of fun. We can only recommend the villa.”
“Just back from a 2 week stay in Lefteris Villa and cannot praise it enough. This has to be one of the best villas we have ever stayed in.

We arrived gone 1am after a flight delay, but Lefteris, the Villa owner, was there to meet us with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble for Lefteris and his wife Alexandra. They popped in twice a week to clean the Villa and supply fresh towels and bedding. Always just a call away if any problems arose or for any info on where to visit etc - very friendly.

The Villa is gorgeous with everything you need and the pool and outside space was just perfect. It's in a lovely quiet area so relaxing here was no trouble at all, but local shops, restaurants and the beach just a couple of minutes drive away. Chania is lovely, only a 25 minute drive. Make sure you walk out to the lighthouse at sunset, it's worth the walk!

Rethymnon is another must see. It's about an hours drive, but you're rewarded with a pretty little harbour and there's lots of shopping to be had. One of our best days was a visit to Georgioupolis (on the way to Rethymnon). There's a lovely little chapel in the sea - you have to walk across a rocky little path to get to it. Then just while away some time in a local cafe with a Nescafé Frappe! On the way home we stopped at Kalyves and sat in a restaurant overlooking the sea while the sun went down. Perfect.

This was our 2nd visit to Crete and it didn't disappoint. The weather was gorgeous, the locals so friendly and the scenery amazing. We would recommend Crete for a relaxing family holiday and we would definitely stay at Lefteris Villa.”
“Villa Aurora exceeded all our expectations. It was perfectly located - although only 5 minutes drive from Maleme with its beach, restaurants and amenities, it truly felt like you were getting away from it all. Nestled in the hills, surrounded by olive groves with the most amazing sea views and currently not overlooked at all, it was so peaceful.

We are a family of 4 and really enjoyed the space! The villa could easily sleep 9 or 10 and was beautifully decorated in a contemporary style. The pool and the extensive garden were perfect for our kids, aged 8 and 5. There are an abundance of fruit trees and aromatics, which we made use of when barbecuing. The villa has huge windows to make the most of the incredible views on all aspects, so is light and airy, and there are insect screens on all windows which are very useful.

We visited the beautiful beaches at Falassarna (about 35 mins) and Elafonisi from the villa (1hr 20), as well as Chania (30 mins) and Rethymno (1hr). Booking through Chania rentals was very easy and Vlahakis Artemis, the manager, was always very prompt in responding to any queries I had. The owners were lovely and very helpful and we feel very privileged we were the first people to stay in this outstanding villa.”
“Everything about this rental was Excellent! Great service at chania-rentals.com, a great Villa - just as described. A car is recommended.”
“We spent a really lovely week here in June 2017. We were two families or 4 and 5 respectively with kids ranging from 8-14.

We arrived late at night after an exciting drive over the mountains. We awoke to a lovely villa in a lovely village. The villa is hugely spacious and well equiped, and so everyone had their own space. There are local shops in the village that are fine for most things and others only short drive away. The tavernas in the village are lovely - we loved the one in the square in particular. It rained pretty solidly for 2 days and that is where the space; the games room and even the pool came into their own. We were delighted to venture to the nearby beach whenit finally stopped.

The outdoor space is great and we created a lovely cocktail (Mo-Creto!) from the mint and lemons... The gentleman who told us all about the villa could not have been more helpful and went above and beyond the call of duty with missing bags (airline) and a replacement car delivery. Top tips on days out as well.

We had a lovely time and for once we said we'd like to go back. Highly recommended. ”
“A fantastic villa in a perfect location! The views are amazing and we never tired of watching the sunset. The villa had everything you could want and more, and was immaculately clean and well kept inside and out.

The only thing wrong with our whole stay was that it was far too short .....”
“Very happy with the accommodation and pool. On arrival owner waiting to meet us and advise us of all the relevant villa matters.
Hope to be able to return, as location very rural and quiet, but close to all amenities.

Booking very well organised, with low deposit. ”
“Very nice place.
Beautiful view.

Chania rentals and owner of Geana Villa was very nice people.

If you want to make your holiday excellent then choose this place.”
“In the beginning of July we rented Villa Dias for a week. It was an unforgettable vacation! The villa is comfortable, large, with a stunning surrounding area - barbecue, wonderful areas for lunch or dinner, great views of olive groves and the sea. Around the villa grow lemons, peaches, plums, olives.

The owners are very hospitable and friendly. Any question responds. We were treated to the best house moussaka (this was not the first time, last year it was also on their second villa - Artemis). The only thing for our children would be more comfortable bathrooms, and the villa has only a shower, but this is not a problem in such a beautiful place.

Everything is just great and we will definitely return again. I recommend this villa to everyone who wants a cool holiday.”
