“Villa Nicholas is nicely appointed – we especially enjoyed the private pool and sunbeds. You have a beautiful view of Souda Bay, it’s only minutes to Almyrida Beach, and you can walk to a number of indoor-outdoor cafes that serve incredible food at economical prices. The villa could use a bit of updating with the smaller touches such as bath mats & shower curtains – and the beds were quite a bit harder than we were used to…but all in all the furnishings, ambience, and features of the villa were very satisfactory. A rental car is a good idea as Plaka makes a good jumping off point for travelling to nearby places of interest throughout northwest Crete. It is about an hour to the west coast with the famous white & pink sands of Fallasarna Beach, 30 minutes to Chania with the sights and shops of the old harbour and about a two hour drive to the Mayan ruins of Knossos.”
“The only thing which marred our stay slightly was indifferent weather on 3 or 4 days of the fortnight. The villa was superb- spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with large grounds, a good-sized pool and stunning views. The owners were friendly and helpful and ensured that we were directed to the delightful taverna ten minutes walk away- the home made orange cake was divine and the rest wasn't bad either! I recommend this villa highly- it accommodated eight adults and four children with ease. A particular pleasure was to make an olive log fire in the evenings in the spacious outdoor eating area and when the blaze had subsided to cook over the red-hot embers whilst sampling the local wine- paradise. Plenty of good beaches, shops and other attractions within easy reach and all the locals are so friendly. The villa is equipped with wheelchair-friendly ramps and an efficient lift as well as easy access to the pool and would suit those with disabilities.”
“Villa Gianna was a superb property with excellent facilities, inside and outside. The property had a homely feel about it and the surrounding mountains and views of the bay were spectacular. The owner had an attention to detail, was exceptionally helpful and friendly. We (8 of us) had a fantastic, memorable holiday which we will never forget. We enjoyed the garden and being able to help ourselves to the produce. Just one warning, the access to the villa from the main road was a bit challenging. It was only a very short distance, but it was a steep track with several sharp bends. We would thoroughly recommend this property to anyone who wants a truly beautiful environment in which to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather.”
“We really enjoyed our stay in Nektarious villa. The villa was exactly as presented on site (even better)! The villa is just outside Maleme in a quite countryside with a very nice see view, it is well organized we arrived late in the night and we found water in the , tea, sugar and sonon for the first breakfast ... Shops are quite near but car is necessary if you book this villa. The swimming pool is always clean and lights inside water are on all the evenings. We suggest to spend the morning on the beach ( every day a different one) and around 4 pm ho back to the villa ... In the garden and swimming pool. ”
“The site of the house is great. It is half way on a hill and has a great view over the olive trees and the trees. The house is charming and has all kind of equipment you need.”
“We stayed at Hermes Villa for one week. We liked the place very much. The location was excellent: on the mountine with a magnificent view to the sea and mountines, little villages, colourful contry roads. It was fantastic to begin the day with a good hike on those lovely roads. And many of our party enjoyed riding with two horses. The swimming pool was very clean and big enough. The house itself was comfortable and clean and the cleaning service was good. We had pleasure to meat some members of the family that owned the property. They were very nice and helpful people and everything worked very well, when we had something to ask or some minor problems. It was experience to walk in the darkness to local Taverna and have a truely authentic and traditional dinner in the evening. On the hole I would say that we had a unforgettable week and recommend the place for those who appreciate authentic atmosphere and nature.”
“The villa was excellent; quiet, clean and well equipped. There also were beds which did not feel like a rock under your back. That usually is a big problem in Greece but not this time. We all slept well in Villa Adriana's comfort beds. We had a very friendly welcoming by the owner and during our vacation we felt that if needed, we would get help and advise very soon. The villa was everything we had hoped for and we were very pleased :) BUT: the distance between the villa and G-poli was 2,3 km - not 1 km as it was written. That is the only negative thing we have to say. ”
“when we arrived at the villa we were instantly extremely pleased with our choice of villa. the villa was larger than we thought from the photos on the website and was just perfect in every way.it was also very clean. we were met by penelope who was extremely helpful in giving us all the information we required for the type of holiday we wanted. the location is perfect away from it all, but near enough to local shops tavernas and chania etc we would certainly recomend this villa and will definately return. ”
“Villa Iris is a lovely villa set on a mountain side with views over the hills and sea - viewed through walls of glass. It is very open and large so perfect for children as space for them to run around without any danger of breaking anything! The bedrooms are large and all have en suite facilities. The garden and swimming pool were lovely and the owners very kind. It is up a mountain so you will need a car but again is close to big towns, the main road and Chania”
“We arrived on Crete and began driving to the villa. The directions were clear and the roads easily found. We traveled up the hillside, the road narrowing and eventually becoming a dirt track. We wondered what lay in store for us. Then the olive trees parted to reveal the io villa. It was wonderful. Thick stone walls, beautiful windows, and wonderfully crafted furnishings. Each morning when I opened the shutters on the day I half expected Romeo to be waiting below the balcony to greet me. Every detail of the house is well done. A house truly worthy of the Montagues and the Capulets. The view must be touched upon as well. The villa is surrounded by soft silvery olive trees but situated with the height to see over them all the way to the sea. It is deliciously quiet and peaceful. Manos, the owner is helpful and polite, speaks impeccable English and exudes the generosity and charm we found all over Crete. I will live my life wanting to go back.”
“We had a wonderful week on Crete in Villa Danae! It has anything you want to - and more! The kitchen is better equipped then our own one and the rest of the villa is also good equipped. The view is fantastic and the pool is big enough to swim and get refreshed! The surrounding was very quiet and recreational. And last but not least is Kyriakos a very nice and obliging owner! Thank you!”
“The house is really wonderful, very clean and comfortable and the owner lady very very nice. Thank you for the cold drinks in the fridge and the cake. We really enjoyed also the swimmingpool. Everything was good organized and we can really recommend the house. The only thing which was disturbing were the neighbours dog which was barking the whole night. But the house and environment is really beautiful! Thank you again.”
