“I spent 2 excellent weeks here at the start of the UK summer school holidays. The villa was wonderful, much better than can be seen on the pictures. The views were spectacular. We had every thing we needed and the villa was suitable for all ages and members of the family. Everything you would need was available. The family who own the villa were very friendly and helpful and I would definitely go back again! ”

Hermes

5/5
“Hermes Villa is set in delightful gardens with fabulous views and a very pleasant pool. Inside the rooms are spacious and well furnished, the kitchen has everything you need. We enjoyed barbecues and using the outside wood oven to cook pizzas. Maria, the owner felt like an old friend after only a week. She was very helpful and we particularly enjoyed our night out with the locals at the small nearby taverna which she recommended. We visited the bakery in Tavronitis every morning for delicious fresh bread and cakes and there are several supermarkets within an easy drive. Chania is charming and there are many good beaches to visit. We also enjoyed the Samaria Gorge, Lake Kournas where pedalos can be hired, the Olive Tree museum and several caves. On our last day we had a late flight so visited Rethymnon, which is beautiful, then drove to Water City near Heraklion. Perfect! We would certainly recommend this villa very highly.”

Thank you Crete

“Our family party of seven adults and two children experience high class accommodation and breathtaking surroundings. The villa's appointments catered to our every need. This set us up to open our hearts to Crete and we were rewarded by the people of Crete with bountiful blessings. ”

“Très bonne location à conseiller à toutes les familles. Très jolie vue sur la vallée et la mer. Ménage fait tous les 3 jours. Seul petit bémol, les ustensiles de cuisine sont un peu juste pour une famille de 5 personnes.”

Excellent villa! Great service! Beware of the raki though!!

5/5
“We stayed in Adriana Villa or two weeks in late July 2012. It was fantastic. Often the write-ups and pictures prove to be much better than the real-life experience. Not at Adriana Villa. It was beautifully clean, fully equipped and everything worked. We were met at the property by Otto (and first introduced to raki by him - beware, it's dangerous stuff!) - he cleans the pool twice a week and brings gifts, whilst his wife cleans the villa throughout twice a week too. The villa is plenty big enough - we were four adults and 3 kids and the area is lovely and peaceful at night. The bedrooms are all well proportioned and the terraces off the bedrooms are big too. The pool is great and kid friendly. You do need to hire a car though as the walk back to the villa from the beach is hot and steep. But cars are easily available for rent in Georgioupolis at around Euros 25 per day, so don't bother booking in advance. Otto will show you where the car hire companies are.The nearest beach is 3mins drive away, the sea is calm and shallow for a long while. Pleasure fishing from the quay is fun, but take your telescopic rod and reel with you as they are difficult to get and expensive to buy in Georgioupolis. And do try the Blue Boat Bar along the beach - fabulous food, drinks and service all day long. Summertime bar on the seafront has the best cocktails and the Poseiden Restaurant by far the best fresh fish. Final tip - take your smartphones or laptop if you need your internet fix: all the good bars have fast and free wi-fi access, and they'll give their customers the secure passwords to get access. We'll definitely come back. Cheaper villas are available, but Adriana Villa is worth the extra money. It's a bit of a secret gem...... ”

Lovely spacious villa

5/5
“We very much enjoyed our stay at Liana. The accommodation had been renovated well retaining the old character of the building. The living areas and bedrooms were very spacious and two bathrooms were a bonus. Lots of very nice outdoor areas with a large terrace with sunloungers and dining table on the top and nice paved areas around the pool with another outdoor table and sunloungers. The pool was a really good size and we spent a lot of time in it. The villa was well equipped and the owners are very committed to making sure you have a really good stay. Having a maid service twice a week was a bonus. The location is very good with supermakets (the local ones are best) and restaurants very close. The villa was also not far from beautiful sandy beaches. The local beach is stony but is a great place for a drink or dinner right by the sea. Thank you very much for a great stay.”

Crete's holiday

5/5
“We stayed in the Laina Villa from the 11th to the 22nd of June. The Villa was exactly what we expected. It's really big, comfortable, clean and in a not too crowded village. At the same time in few minutes by car you can reach Platanias, which is a really big village, full of discos, restaurants, shops and markets. The owners were really kind and friendly. For example they always brought us fresh fruits, like melon, watermelon and peaches. The swimming pool was clean. We didn't have any kind of problems! We really suggest you to choose this Villa for your holiday!”

A beautiful place for a holiday in Crete

4/5
“We enjoyed two nice weeks at Nektarios Villa this past June/July. We found the view from the villa to be spectacular towards the sea and over the nearby villages. The villa itself was very nice too. The pictures had maybe given an impression that the rooms were slightly bigger in size but since the rooms were mainly used just for sleeping it didn't really matter much. It was a good thing that all the rooms had their own air conditioning units which enabled us all to choose the temperature that suited every individual. We liked the chance to do our laundry at the villa since that saved a lot of time and effort for us.

The pool area was also very nice. There was plenty of space around the pool to spread out the sunbeds and enjoy the beautiful weather. However, it might have been nice to know beforehand that the whole pool was around 175cm deep which of course meant that at no part of the pool could you reach the bottom with your feet.

Unfortunately there were also some things that we found a bit disappointing. First of all almost as soon as we arrived we noticed that the BBQ area was practically unusable.

It would have also been nice to know which days the cleaning lady was coming and around what time. We could have taken that into account in our plans. Now it happened so that once she came just when we were in the middle of our lunch and another time just preparing to go out for dinner (i.e. using showers etc). Also the owner popped to the villa at almost any time of the day for different tasks. It would have been nice to have been informed about these visits as well beforehand. Once he came to cut the grass at eight pm while knowing that there was present a small baby, who usually goes to bed around that time.

From the information received prior to our vacation, we were in the belief that the beach and the nearest village were a bit closer than they were in reality. We would definitely recommend to have a car for the most of the time since the distance to”

wonderful villa in beautiful hillside location

5/5
“We had a wonderful week in Villa Gianna. The villa is situated in the hills above Vrisses, so it feels tucked away and secluded, but is in fact a very short drive from the beautiful beaches of Giorgopolis. The owner, Sifis, was very hospitable and greeted us with a basket of local produce (very useful all of it - e.g. olive oil, yoghurt, feta, delicious herbs, handmade olive oil soap...).

The villa has beautifully tended gardens and a lovely pool. There is a huge vegetable patch and we were encouraged to help ourselves to ripe produce (tomatoes, courgettes, etc). There is a wonderful stone built barbecue and pizza oven at the back of the villa.

The villa itself offered comfortable (but not luxurious) accommodation. It was spotlessly clean on arrival and a midweek maid service and linen change helped to keep it that way. There is one double room with an ensuite shower room and two twin rooms and a family bathroom on the upper floor. On the ground floor there is one double bedroom with it's own adjacent (but not ensuite) shower room. This shower room is also the only downstairs wc.

We were 2 families of 4, so 4 adults and 4 young children and it worked very well. The siblings shared the twin rooms and the adults were in the doubles.

Points to note: You will definitely need to hire a car if you are staying here and the steep hill leading to the villa is quite dramatic (definitely to be done in 1st gear!)

The pool is not gated, but it is visible from all points of the house and our children (ranging from 18months to 4 years old) soon understood the house rule of not going past the 'line' without a grown up, so it wasn't a problem, as long as we were vigilant. ”
