“We had a great holiday and the stay in villa Erato was the best holiday ever for us. It is a beautiful villa with tranquil surroundings. Greek people are amazing and hard working. George whose family owns this villa was waiting for us at 3am as we kind of got lost on our way after landing at Chania airport at 12 am. He did not make any fuss about it. We had two meals in his restaurant in Almirida and enjoyed them and the drinks. We recommend this highly to any one with family ( children). Pool was amazing as well. Highlights were Elofonisi beach, Palace of Knossos and Chania old town. Thank you Chania rentals and please convey our thanks to George and his family. Nisal & Family”
“The holiday in Crete, Chania, Villa Aretousa 1, was really wonderful and absolutely superb thinking of out 2 sons (by the time of our trip 9 1/2 months & 3 years). Villa Aretousa 1 was absolutely phantastic, and if possible, even nicer in reality than on the pictures (eventhough the pictures already were lovely). Everything with the villa was just perfect and the owner a really warmhearted and helpful lovely lady. We warmly recommend for e.g. families with small kids or families/groups who appreciate privacy. we loved especially the lovely private garden with swimming pool (also for kids) & minigolf. We are so greatful for our lovely holiday!!!”
“We had a fabulous stay at Villa Geana in August. It's luxuriously appointed over four floors and met our needs perfectly. It's high in the hills with amazing views and even at the warmest point there was always a pleasant breeze. Natasha and her family ensured we had everything we needed, and we really enjoyed being able to use the pizza oven! The villa is a little out of the way - you definately need a car - and the roads are 'interesting' at times. You can walk to the local village in about 10 minutes where there are some super restaurants, but don't forget to take a torch for the return journey! You can walk to Agia Marina and the beach, it will take you c20 mins down quite a steep hill. Even more restaurants there, as well as access to the bus to Chania (fantastic place!) Go, it's lovely.”
“An excellent villa with stunning views. Very secluded but only 5 minutes walk to some great restaurants, bars and the shop. Perfect for my husband and me, with our family in their early twenties. They loved the pool table!”
“We strongly recommand this villa. The owner is very kind. The place is wonderful. The services are high quality And Crete is a beautiful country with nice people”
“We enjoyed to Vallia villa, the welcome was very nice and warmly. The villa was fully conform with the web description. The service is at the good level. One thing, when we are 6 it is important to switch on the water heater to get hot water on the morning. Again thanks for the welcome, and for the comfortable villa. It could be appreciable to receive an email a week or two weeks before coming to say hello we are expecting you soon ... ”
“My wife and three daughters (13,11, 8) have hired villas in various countries for the past 7 years. It is no exaggeration to say that Maleme Cottages ticked all our boxes and met all our expectations.

The villa is located in a residential area of Maleme, on a corner plot, and consists of a 2 acre orange orchard, pool house/pool and cottage. The owner has made every effort to style and design the villa in a modern manner. The garden is peaceful and colourful and the pool has a jacuzzi area in one corner which is very relaxing. The pool is not particularly large and at the deepest part is approximately 1.6m which is safe for children of our ages

If you want a relaxing holiday without too much touring then a car hire is not essential for this villa. There are approximately 6 supermarkets, 8 tavernas, a butcher and chemist all within a 5-10 minute walk. The beach front itself is no more than 10 minute walk away and although it is a pebble beach most of the cafe/restaurants allow free use of sunbeds providing you are a customer without any pressure of continued spending. We ate locally most nights and did not have a bad meal at all although service at one was most poor. Tavernas particularly recommended are Malame Taverna on the beach front and Mikes Hotel on the main road. It was extremely cheap to dine out with cost of approximately 50 euros for our family of five which included bread entree, a main course, drinks and fruit.

Bus travel into the main area of Chania is straightforward taking approximately 30 minutes at a cost of 2.30euros each and buses run very frequently. The harbour in Chania is beautiful with plenty of tavernas and shopping opportunities. Our girls enjoyed a tour of Chania on a horse and carriage. A water park at Limnoupolis is also a good day out for young families.

The Cretan people of very generous and welcoming. Our host, Stella, brought us many gifts during our stay including fresh oranges, cakes, biscuits and olive oil.”
“We located the villa easily with the directions provided. We were greeted by the English speaking owner who was very helpful and curteous. She was easily contacted when we had questions. The villa is very nice and everything worked and the little touches were great e,g welcome fruit baseket plus essential cooking items. Agia Marina is a busy resort so a lot going on for the young-at-heart but the villa is away from the busy centre so peaceful, (but sill within walking distance). Thanks for a lovely stay!”
“This house accommodated our party of 8 perfectly. It had everything we needed for our stay and we had a fantastic holiday. The villa and pool were well looked after and our host very welcoming and generous. We managed without a car for a week as the local buses were brilliant and supermarket and restaurants are within easy walking distance. First time to Crete but hopefully not the last! Thank you! ”
