A beautiful house in a beautiful place

5/5
“We spent a week in this house. Everything was almost perfect... the only problem we had was with the washing machine, but Manos bought a new one at once, and then everything was perfect. Everything we need was in the house. Manos has prepared for us fruits, oil, milk, tea, coffe, orange juice, yoghurts, so whan we arrived we could eat and have time. The landscape is very nice, with olivers all around the villa. In fact, nothing was missing. And of course the house is very nice, well decorated. It was a very pleasant place to stay for all the family, after visiting all day long!”

LOVE IT!

5/5
“I have travelled all over the world with my family and stayed in villas, gites, riads and rental properties—this is one of the nicest I've experienced all the way around.

First, the villa is a short drive away from Chania airport, but you feel like you are a world away from tourists and the busy kitsch of the city. When you arrive at the villa, you are greeted by Margarita who supplies you with a basket of local honey, teas, olive oil and fantastic balsamic vinegar. She will recommend the perfect restaurant (we tried 3 that were amazing), arrange for a massage, get you a discount on a car rental (we got a convertible at a terrific rate) and even bring you farm fresh eggs in the morning. The villa also has a garden from which you can help yourself.

Aside from this, the pool is gorgeous! There's a b-b-q pit and patio next to it and you overlook olive groves while swimming. The house is situated with two bedrooms and baths on the upper level, a kitchen and living and third bath on the main level and a miniature apartment on the bottom level, which would accommodate up to 5 people with a private kitchen. Our teenager loved having his own space there.

The only drawback of Villa Margarita is that nobody in our family wanted to venture out of the villa to see Crete! Simply fantastic! ”

Perfect house for a family

5/5
“We rented the house for a vacation with our family of six adults and four children. The house was really perfect for our group. Plenty of space and enough privacy for all of us. The house was comfortable and the children enjoyed the table tennis, table football and especially the outside pool. The barbecue worked outstanding and we had some nice diners outside. Gavalochori is a nice place to be, near to Almeryda and near to the airport. ”

Perfect Holidays!

5/5
“During our holidays in May we stayed in Joanna Villa for a week with our three children. We were welcomed by Lefteris en Alexandra, a lovely friendly young couple, who were waiting for us at the villa, even though we arrived much later in the evening because of car rental problems. The house is great! it's big, it's clean, it has got a nice pool and garden. Both sunny and shady places are provided. Halfway the house got cleaned, what a nice surprise!

The house is situated in a small village but is near Platanias, a bigger town. Metohi is a good place to start exploring the east side of Crete. A car is recommendable. We really loved our stay and want to thank the owners for their hospitality and help with the dental problems we've experienced, the advise for a restaurant the first evening and picking oranges in their olive plantation. ”

Hermes in May

5/5
“Very welcoming and informative owner, beautiful garden flowers and walks in the surrounding olive groves. Villa had everything needed but spent a lot of time gazing at the views with intermittent bracing dips in the pool. Recommend the local taverna, food excellent and matched by the owners friendliness . Would loved to have stayed longer”

Beautiful villa and location!

5/5
“We have just returned home from a brilliant 10 night stay at this villa, we had a great time and we didn't want to leave! We arrived late at night, very tired but the owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. They provided us with lots of useful information about where to visit and the local area.

We were very lucky with weather and highly recommend this villa to families and to to those that want to explore. Car hire is essential but it takes just minutes to drive from the villa to the local beaches and shops, restaurants etc. The view from the villa overlooking the mountains and sea is amazing and was a real treat waking up to every morning. The only negatives for us was having to come home! ”

Watercolor workshop on Crete

5/5
“During the last two weeks of April, a group of northerners from Wisconsin and Minnesota descended on the beautiful Hermes Villa. It was more than we could possibly have foreseen from the pictures and conversations we had with the owners and the rental agency. We had an absolutely seamless experience. Gorgeous, well equipped villa, rental cars, meals catered at the local taverna, fresh fruit, local wine and raki all at our disposal. We left feeling like we were a part of the village and can not wait until we can come back for a month next time. ”

Amazing place to stay

5/5
“ My family and I spent an amazing 9 days at Margarita Villa!

We were greeted by Margarita herself when we arrived and were presented a lovely basket of specialty foods unique to Crete. Such foods included olive oil, balsamic honey vinegar, sea salt, olive and honey paste, thyme honey, and wine! All from Crete! The honey was so good that I tried to find some in the stores but couldn't find one comparable. However, Margarita was generous enough to provide me with a few more jars. Margarita is very thoughtful and would offer to get us anything we needed from the store. She is the kindest owner I've met and my family and I rent apartment villas quite often.

Now for the villa itself - simply amazing. Clean, modern, comfortable, and spacious. Wonderful views from the many balconies that face the sea or mountain. You could have a full house and still find privacy on your own balcony to relax and enjoy the breathtaking view.

The bedrooms are very large with lots of space for luggage and your belongings. The beds are very comfortable, and the shower pressure was excellent.

Wifi works well on the main floor and on the balconies but not so much in my bedroom on the second floor.

The kitchen is well equipped and if there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask Margarita.

The pool was clean and lovely and I could picture having a great time there and relaxing in the summer.

The location is great if you want to be close to Chania (10-15 minute drive) but far away enough that you can get some peace and enjoy nature. You would need a car since you wouldn't be able to walk to a nearby store or coffee shop. It was perfect for our family.

I truly enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Crete. I only wish that I could've stayed longer in during a warmer month!

You will not regret staying here. It made coming home and waking up every day so wonderful. ”

Excellent Accommodation

5/5
“We arrived to meet Stella, who was very welcoming and had left a welcome pack in the Fridge along with a lovely Easter cake! Very nice! The villa is first class accommodation clean and spacious. We spent the first few days around the pool, while the weather was good, very relaxing. The villa is well positioned, to walk to the village and the seafront also the bus to Chania is on your doorstep. Please visit Traditional Cretan Products, excellent cheese and wine. Also the Ceramic workshop is well worth a visit. Village itself was very quiet, which suited us. All in all our experience of Crete was wonderful, people lovely and scenery beautiful. Thanks to Stella and also Sofia who helped with directions to the car hire people. ”

a wonder experience!

5/5
“I booked Metochi villa as a weeks treat for my family over the Easter break. We reserved Metochi villa on the basis of the beautiful photos and crossed our fingers that it would be just as great in reality. It was. We absolutely loved the peaceful location, surrounded by olive groves, not a road in sight, the sea in the distance and snow capped mountains over to the east. The villa itself was a pleasure to stay in, with beautiful honey-coloured stone walls, wonderful views in all directions, an elegant livingroom, attractive bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen and a swimming pool that was stunning (OK, it was very cold at this time of year but in the summer it would be total bliss). On a couple of occasions we contacted the owner to ask about something and she was incredibly helpful and pleasant, not to mention the fact that her English was wonderful (puts the rest of us all to shame!). We certainly plan to come back and stay here. Just one little request: please could we have oven gloves in the kitchen and a broom to sweep the floor? With three messy kids a broom would be handy! ”
