“This villa is perfection everything you need for you stay with a beautiful location in a quite village but can walk to town and major bus routes easily although I do think a car would be beneficial. We stayed as a family with 4 adults and a toodler and had plenty of space. Can't recommend enough we will return for sure!

Only downside was no name on the villa outside which made night time arrival a bit difficult but Alexandra (owner) was available on WhatsApp/ phone to guide us! ”
“Wir haben Mitte Oktober hier eine Woche verbracht.Tolles altes, wunderschön renoviertes Haus auf 3 Etagen. Super Ausstattung, gute Beten. Wir wurden herzlIch begrüßt - danke auch für die Aufmerksamkeiten. Schöner Pool, den wir wegen des klasse Wetters auch gern genutzt haben. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. ”
“Calma Villa is a very nice house in a direct, quiet beach location. The furnishings of the house were modern and tasteful, the kitchen equipment was good (a few more coffee cups would have been nice). The room layout was very well done so that everyone had their own area. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back ”

“We had a lovely stay in this house again, which looks like in the pictures and has all the amenities you need, with high standard and good taste. The host answered all our questions in an informative and timely manner. The location is amazing by the quiet and beautiful sea. Highly recommended. A big thank you to Niki & Artemis and the very kindly grandpa. We hope to see you next year...”
“We spent 16 days in the Euphoria villa during September 2023 and felt very spoiled. The villa offers excellent accommodation including a well equipped kitchen. The view over Souda bay, the private pool and the garden are amazing. Manolis, our host, made everything easy for us.

The villa is very well positioned close to Plaka village with great traditional restaurants and good supermarkets, but also close to Kokkino Khorio village, where the famous Zorba the Greek movie was filmed. The closest beach is Almyrida but having a car allowed us to go to Kalyves sandy beach, which is one of the best in Crete..

We really enjoyed our stay and we’ll definitely come back.”
“We visited Maleme end September 2023 and very enjoyed the peaceful, out-of-the-way villa up in the olive groves, particularly the visiting chickens every morning, cats and the horse in the field opposite. Chania itself has ample to offer of interest, as well as nearby Agia Marina and points of interest within driving distance - various gorges, Botanical gardens etc. Manos was the perfect host, he was there to offer advice, recommendations and sort anything that needed doing. Lots of lovely places to eat out within 5-10 minutes driving and perfectly good BBQ facilities at the villa. I would highly recommend”
“3/5 may be slightly harsh - more like 3.5.

Overview: Well sized villa with nice rooms. Only 2 of us staying in 3 bed (sleeps 6) villa

Good: Nice sea view - generally clean inside - private from villa resi - showers were good. Beds very firm but comfortable. Outside lounge area very nice.

Why not 5/5?:
1) No toilet roll on arrival - had to instantly go shopping to get some - did get 3 rolls after complaining - but i had already purchased
2) no basic amenities - salt, pepper - no toaster(only sandwich toaster). only given 3 dishwasher tablets (bear in mind a 6 person villa for 7 days) with slimline dishwasher. 2 tiny bottles of shower gel. Only given 2 very small bin bags.
3) Cleaning offered on Wednesday - I said "yes we are going out in 10 mins - please come in and clean then" - I received no cleaning or change of linens. (I did get clean towels after asking)
4) Pool very dirty at waterline - needs professional clean
5) Experienced 7 hour power cut (8am-3pm) - with no apology or greeting from owners checking if we were ok.
6) Card machine 'broken' - owner asked us to get cash as soon on arrival - I'm not spending my holiday going to banks to get a good amount a cash out - ended up paying bank transfer. I'm cynical whether the machine was really broken.
7) Brand new huge ultra modern villa built right in front of Enid and Resi - not in photos here. Doesn't ruin the entire view - but its very different to the photos on here.
8) Villa private to villa Resi guests - but owners villa look RIGHT over into the pool area - which is far from private - and new villa (point 7) also overlooks pool.
9) Tired plumbing - 2 of taps very wobbly & master wall hung toilet wobbles too.
10) Hotel like card key electricity token. Passive aggressive signs accompany this saying not to leave electric on when out (i can understand AC) - but leave the dishwasher, oven wifi and sockets on. Guests have paid to be there - let them use electricity when out!

I can't upload photos here - but Chania rentals will receive an email with photographs to back up my points here.

Conclusion - 5th time to Crete - 4th time to Chania region - 1st time with Chania Rentals. Worst experience with owner so far. They didn't seem interested in providing usual cretan hospitality - only concerned about getting paid.

This could easily be 5/5 villa - the owners really let it down with lack of care and attention to guests. Advert photos need to be updated due to point 7 - as view is somewhat spoiled.

Would i book with Chania rentals again? Yes
Would I return to Enid or Resi? No”
“We stayed for a week with 8 adults in the villa. A few days before our arrival, we were in contact with the owner. Although we had a morning flight we were allowed into the villa immediately. On arrival there was a quantity of food (butter, charcuterie, watermelon, wine, etc) in the fridge. That was a nice entrance. The first day we noticed that an air conditioner was not working, the same day it was fixed. During our stay, the coffee machine also broke down, a new one was installed the day after. We always ate outside in the outhouse by the bbq . There is the possibility of lowering a windbreak when needed. At the clean swimming pool, there were plenty of sunbeds. During our week-long stay, cleaning was done twice and bed sheets were changed. Everything is available (soap, dishwasher, washing machine,...). On our departure, the owner came by and gave us olive oil and honey from the beekeeper nearby. We really had no complaints and can only recommend the villa. We enjoyed our stay, everything was there. Top location in peace and quiet! ”
“Having holidayed in Plaka for the past 14 years, I would say this is the best villa we have stayed in. The views are magnificent, the villa is super clean and equipped with anything you need. Lovely pool and outside eating area. Manolis was the perfect host very friendly and helpful. He left fruit water and beer and one day brought us a delicious tart that he thought the grandchildren especially would enjoy.

Thank you so much Manolis and your mother see you next year !! ”
“This place is MAGICAL - so peaceful and relaxing with the most amazing views and sunsets. We loved being amongst the olive groves and the pool is fabulous. Loungers to relax and a great outdoor dining space with lovely lighting at night. The interior of the villa is not modern but is comfortable with everything you need. The dirt track to the villa is not difficult to drive on and you hardly see any other vehicles as it is only shared with 1 other villa. A short drive brings you to local facilities and the beach with a few tavernas. Pretty good base to explore the far west. A warm welcome from the owner, Kyriakos who was lovely and interesting to chat to. ”
“My family and I had a great two-week stay at this property at the start of September. The place is a great size and has brilliant views from the numerous balconies. Plus, the pool is really big. George was amazing from start to finish — anything we needed was attended to same day. Only drawbacks: the furniture/sun beds and pool towels were a bit tired and the hill up to the house is quite steep to walk. Would’ve also been nice to have basics e.g. hand wash provided.”
