“We know Crete well but were surprised to find just how beautiful this part of Western Crete is and how peaceful the village of Neriana. The villa has wonderful vistas in all directions with distant views of olive groves on hill-sides. Set next to an orange orchard, the villa is soundly constructed and high quality. It is quite compact but was fine for three of us (adults) although access to the main bedroom was essentially through the second bedroom (more than adequate for two children or one adult). The villa is well appointed with pretty much everything except a dish-washer (but then that's what husbands are for). The pool was very child friendly. The garden was quite wonderful for sitting in and reading under the shade of the many trees, listening to the bleating of the local nanny-goat (milk available on request!), and watching the swallows. There is a new, rustic and excellent taverna 600 metres up the road towards the useful little town of Voukolies (pharmacy, bakery, mini-market). A short drive towards the coast provides acceptable tavernas at Maleme and excellent fish tavernas at Kolymvari as well as two comprehensive Super-Markets, and a very long beach. Stratos, who owns the villa was extremely helpful and generous with both time, and local produce. We highly recommend this excellent spot for a quiet summer break.”
“We spent really excellent vacations in Villa Eleni (6 people with teenagers). The landscape is wonderful with 180d view on the sea, in calm surroundings of olive trees plantation. The house by itself is beautiful with excellent finition and tasteful decoration and offers full amenities and is large enough for 6 with 3 rooms. The garden is large, with a lot of flowers and using the swimming pool in such beautiful surroundings was a pleasure by itself. Being next to the sea, there was always a cool, gentle air and it was never too hot. The owner takes very good care of the gardens, of the house and of its hosts. Staying at home is definitively an option but the location of the villa is also perfect, outside a small village with full commodities and with easy access to all very interesting and beautiful sites Creete offers in its western part (easy access to Hania, Rethymnon, Elafonissi, Kissamos, FrangoCastelli,...). We warmly recommend chosing this villa for vacations and will certainly rent it again.”
“We had the most fantastic two weeks. The villa was superb, apart from having only one key to share - a problem when we locked ourselves out! Kostas and his family were the perfect hosts bringing fresh fruit & veg from the garden, Dad's homemade wine, Mum's chocolate cake & cheese pies from his Grandmother. Thankyou to them all, we were made to feel very welcome. The baby pool came in very useful with our three year old.The warm breeze kept us cool in the heat of the August sunshine and the villa was very central for touring the island. Thankyou again ”
“villa très agréable, bien équipée, très propre . Le jardin est fleuri et ombragé, la vue sur la mer est superbe. Les propriétaires ont été d'une grande gentillesse et nous ont offert de nombreux cadeaux ! Le village ,le plus proche est animé et offre de nombreux commerces et tavernes. Dommage que la piscine soit beaucoup plus petite qu'elle ne paraît sur la photo ! Nous y avons passé un excellent séjour.”
“Villa was very well presented and maintained and is perfect for two families holidaying together due to the layout. The owner was on hand if needed and was very helpful. You do need a car - but the town of Tavronitis is only a 5 minute drive. One restaurant to visit is in Maleme - [from Tavronitis turn left before the supermarket] on the road down to the beach on right hand side is the Perasma Family Tavern a vine covered restaurant with very good food - excellent meat pie! We visited Chania, several monastries, Knossos and the beautiful beach at Elafonissi - drive through the mountains and return via the coastal route both have lovely scenery. The beach is very busy but still worth a visit even in the summer. ”
“We were three family with small and teens children. We like the villae: its position, the marvelous view, its comfortability. The pool is very good and very convinient even for infants. All sleeping rooms are very comfortable and large. Living room is light, the kitchen with very good equipment. We spent all evenings near the fireplace. Thanks a lot for houseowners. They were very friendly. Its a pity that we had a few time to ride on horses.”
“For our first trip in Crete, the 2 weeks spent in Stavros have been a complete success. The Villa Clio is a modern and very quiet villa on top of a hill with a splendid 180° view over the sea. Chania (harbor, old town, market place), Elafonisi (caraibean beaches), Gramvousa (pirates island), Balos (shallow water lagoon), Samaria (canyon and pebbly beach) and so many others...are wonderfull must see places not o far from the villa. Don't forget to have fun in Limnoupolis, an amazing family water park in Chania outskirts. All the people in Stavros and everywhere we went have been really delightful. These few lines are not enough to describe the pleasure we took during these 2 weeks in Crete. We'll surely go back there with our children (8, 15 and 20 years old).”
“Nothing to add, it was just perfect !”
“We have just returned from a 2 wk stay in Stella villa in Maleme and so, what to report? Absolute privacy in a truly lovely garden; not only was the pool perfect (full sun all day and very clean) but the garden was well maintained and included an orchard (freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast!). The villa inside was spacious enough for our family of 6 to spread out and relax in - the pictures do not do it justice. Again, the house was spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. Ideal base to explore Western Crete and we would thoroughly recommend this villa and Chania Rentals.”
“We had a wonderful holiday at Markos villa, Drapanos. The villa was very clean and tidy on our arrival and we had a lovely meal waiting for us on our arrival, after a long day, it was much appreciated. The pool was cleaned regularly and the views from the villa were breathtaking. We would recommend a trip to the inland Lake. A wonderful opportunity to swim in clear, warm water and a chance to do some kyaking which we had never done before - a great experience! There were three tavernas within walking distance, we tried two and both were very nice. A shop also within walking distance which was convenient. We would recommend a car to see more of the island. Almirida was lovely, again for swimming in the clear, safe water. Thank you once again.”
“Markos Villa is one of the best villas we have stayed in. It was spacious, very well equipped and the views are fantastic. Although it was very private, the local village is a two minute walk, and has two tavernas and a mini market. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Almirida is a ten minute drive and has a great beach lined with cafes and tavernas. You will need a car. I thoroughly recommend this villa!”
“This villa was everything the advertisements declared and the location great - will not enlarge on this as the fun is discovering for oneself. We had a family holiday with children 4/6/8/10 and 6 adults and all agreed it was ten out of ten. A car is essential.”
