“We have just returned from our holiday in Crete and were lucky enough to find The Olive Mill. The villa is situated at the foot of the White Mountains in a very tranquil setting. It was very well maintained with lots of external space. The owners keep the villa and swimming pool very clean and visit twice a week to change the bedding etc... We have never experienced such generosity and consideration by any family before and they made sure we were always well looked after. The villa is not near a beach, but with a car you can get to most places with 30 - 45minutes. We will definately return one day. The advantage of this though is that we saw no other tourists during our 2 weeks at the villa, only when we travelled to a town or tourist site. By being located slightly up in the hills the evenings enjoy a gentle breeze which we really needed when reading outside at night. Down in Chania by comparison the air was very still and humid.”
“Our family stayed for one week in Villa Erato near Vamos and we really enjoyed our time. We were first time in Crete, and surely be back again. Villa Erato was superb for 4 people with own pool and magnificent view! Speliciality was the possibility to use own garden with melons etc. Everything was clean and well organized. Vamos village is great to experience real Crete. Beautiful! For beaches we enjoyed those in Georgioupolis. Also Elafonisis was worth to visit. And for children best place was Lake Kourna, great!”
“Great villa- very clean and loads of space. Very large pool with lots of shade and some very friendly cats and kittens from next door- although I am sure that they would make themselves scarce if you don't like cats. It's also a short walk to the beach and all the restaurants. The only small negatives are no aircon or fan in the living room, so this is hot at night, although the bedrooms have great aircon. Also, there is no dust pan for the barbeque so we made our own! Mattresses are quite hard, too, but we all still slept well. The DVD also only played about 1/3 of our DVDs. Overall, a fabulous place to stay and we can highly recommend the villa.”
“Exactly as the photos, beautifully secluded location (must have a car) & fantastic view from the top of a hill, quiet, waking only to the sound of the local cockerill in the morning. Yet only 5 minutes from motorway at bottom of hill, so Chania only 30 minutes by car (beautiful town). 2no good local supermarkets only 10 minutes by car (west of Tavronitis). Closest sandy beach (east of Platanias) takes 25 minutes. Very spacious inside, very large bedrooms, plenty of room for the kids. Perfect swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers, sun all day until 7.00pm. So comfortable inside that we ate in every night! Owners extremely helpful. All modern amenities: microwave, dishwasher, CD, satellite (only Greek channels) computer/internet (not fast) air conditioning & dvd/satellite in all bedrooms, small kitchenette in dining/living room. Everything worked except Jacuzzi in the pool. Lost water twice for a few hours in the morning due to local building work, so be prepared. Maid comes Tuesdays & Fridays at 09.30hrs. A few mosquitos at night, so use the plug-ins, blinds in all rooms help keep place airiated & free of mosquitos during the day. Could do with a fan in the living room though.”
“This villa is so, so, so nice. We had a very good trip there. Everything is as goog as on the picture : the pool, the bbq, the garden, the view.... Very Nice!”
“We spent a wonderful time in the Gianna Villa near Georgioupolis! The stone house with its four bedrooms, the open kitchen and living-room and the three bathrooms was great. It offers a lot of space and was really very apropriate for our needs. We have been there four persons and our almost two years old son, who loved the huge area (especially the garden) very much. The view from the house is gorgeous, the pool refreshing and the barbecue very nice. The house was cleaned two times a week. We felt very warm welcomed the first day, because we found in the house local products and a bottle of red wine as present as we arrived the first day ;-) The nice village Georgioupolis is not far and offers a long sandy beach and some good taverns and restaurants. When I'm coming next time to Crete, I will spend my time again in the Gianna Villa - it was very nice!”
