“What a beautiful villa, arrived a bit late due to flight delay, but the villa was ready with the key in the door. It is in the most stunning position on the side of the hill overlooking the white mountains and the sea. The villa was immaculate, extremely clean and very high quality. very spacious and airy. Lots of balconies and seating areas around the villa. Pool was lovely and clean although the floor was a bit slippery in the childs section of the pool. The BBQ and bread oven were great for outdoor eating and lots of garden lighting made it perfect for eating later in the evening. Maria the owner was very helpful and directed us to lot of things to see, including the oldest olive tree in the world, which sends a branch to every olympics The villa was cleaned twice whilst we were there for just a week, and what a superb clean it was, All in all it was the most fantastic weeks holiday, gorgeous location, the best villa and superb weather, the only down side was we had to come home :-(”
“We (2 friends) stayed at Villa Stella for 10 days in May/June 2012 and were absolutely satisfied (I already knew Crete before). House was very spacious for the two of us, but would acomodate a max. of 6 persons without being too small. Older house (70ies style), but in perfect state and spotlessly clean (service and towels/linen change twice/week incl. in price!!) and w. extensive mature garden, even fruit trees to pick from. Large pool that allowed for real swimming! Fully equipped kitchen. 5-10 min. to beach on foot. Small supermarket for basic needs 2 min around corner, larger one 5 min bay car or 10 min by foot. Maleme is not a tourist resort, but provides several cafés in town als well as some nice tavernas on the beachfront (recommended: "To Kyma" [="The Wave"] and "Taverna Maleme", both can be reached by foot in about 10 min.; "Small Paradise" a little further away, by car). Perfectly situated if you want to explore the western part of the island: 20 min drive to Chania, 50 min. to Rethimno, about 2 hrs to Knossos/Herakion or to beautiful Elafonisi Beach. Also good for day trips to Falassarna beach or to Gramvousa Peninsula (interesting monasteries as well as a nice walk down to the sea where it is possible to have a swim) or even to Paleochora on the south coast. Chania, Rethimno and Elafonisi are not to be missed! When travelling w. teenagers one should consider that Maleme is not a tourist resort, so there are no activities such as water/fun parks, banana boat rides, water sports or the like, also no nightly entertainment. We also rented a car via Chania Rentals, and everything worked perfectly.”
“A superbly renovated and carefully maintained villa and grounds, spacious and cool, with a beautiful garden full of flowers, a very nice pool and an orange grove, in a very quiet place, however within walking distance of supermarket, shops and beach. The owner brought us home made cookies, flowers, wine and oil and the cleaning lady, Sofia, taught us how to cook moussaka and gave us fruit and oil. We felt at home, which is not often the case with a rented house. The 4 of us had plenty of space and privacy and we loved having our meals outside on the shaded terrace - we used the BBQ a lot. I have a mobility problem but with the downstair room and shower room it was perfect. The pool is also easily accessible. A perfect 15-day holiday and we just want to come back as soon as possible! ”

“We stayed 1 week at the beautiful Maritina Villa in April. The house is very big and the garden around is fantastic with Olive trees, nice pool and views. Beautiful terraces as well. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We stayed with 2 young children and it was just perfect. for them. The pool is safe. thank you for everything! swen and family ”
“The house was pretty good comfortable, many rooms, many bathrooms... Eveything was in the house, so, no needs to buy anything (for the w-machine for ex.). The Cretan hospitality is a real concept! You need a car to go the house but the view is wonderfull. Un séjour vraiment génial dans une maison des plus agréables, que demander de plus? Tout était parfait! A recommander pour les familles ou les groupes d'amis!!”
“This is the first time that I have ever agreed to write a review of a holiday villa however I am very pleased to put down a few notes on Remvi Villa. The villa is lovely, it is huge and could comforatbly sleep 10 people. It is also very well looked after with the pool cleaned and maintained twice a week. The key thing was that we were cared for and made to feel so welcome. We arrived in Crete at 10 oclock at night and after picking up the car and varous diversions did not get to the villa until about 2am. The last bit of hte journey was easy because of the photos that accompanied the directions. we were meet at the villa with water and milk in the fridge, fruit on the table and sandwiches in a box. We had regular visist to make sure we were OK and left with a gift of honey and olive oil which we are all enjoying now we are back in the UK Lovely villa and one that I would highly recommend ”
“Wonderful time in this holidays home for the childrens and parents. Everything was perfect (owners welcome, swimmingpool, house, comfort, sightseeing, ...)”
“This villa has the most extraordinary views I've ever experienced. Ever, anywhere. I totally fell in love with the views and the area. It is quite high up a hill/small mountain and the location is mesmerising. The house has a room at the top which is very, very cosy, with wooden floors, a slanted wooden ceiling, a real delight! It also has 3 outside terraces, the top one allowing a 360 degree view of the surrounding area. It is also quiet and peaceful, despite there being other properties in the vecinity. All this makes up for a pretty un-cosy living area, a poorly kitted kitchen (but then we always go out for dinner when on holidays) and the staircase steps being higher than usual. Not for somebody with a disability at all! The owner's wife kindly expected us with a delicious moussaka in the fridge and some other delights which were yummie! Would I go back? Definitely!”
“The Villa was just wonderful. We stayed in October 2011 and had a week of pure relaxation in the villa's grounds, lounging around on the wonderfully padded sunbed cushions in the garden, near the orange trees. The kitchen was equipped to an extremely high standard and the welcome basket of the freshest fruit and vegetables meant we had to do very little shopping. Even things like washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, wiping up cloths, kitchen towel, olive oil, seasoning etc were provided which just makes cooking whilst abroad an absolute pleasure. Everything in the villla worked perfectly, we used the washing machine a few times too and it was just delightful to be able to pick fresh oranges each morning for juice for breakfast. The nearest taverna was shut as it was out of season but there are some good restaurants just about 7 mins drive away. There's a lovely bakery in the village and a good supermarket in the nearest village (3kms away). It was so very quiet and peaceful and was great for a weeks' R&R! Thoroughly recommend it!”
“Villa Nicholas is nicely appointed – we especially enjoyed the private pool and sunbeds. You have a beautiful view of Souda Bay, it’s only minutes to Almyrida Beach, and you can walk to a number of indoor-outdoor cafes that serve incredible food at economical prices. The villa could use a bit of updating with the smaller touches such as bath mats & shower curtains – and the beds were quite a bit harder than we were used to…but all in all the furnishings, ambience, and features of the villa were very satisfactory. A rental car is a good idea as Plaka makes a good jumping off point for travelling to nearby places of interest throughout northwest Crete. It is about an hour to the west coast with the famous white & pink sands of Fallasarna Beach, 30 minutes to Chania with the sights and shops of the old harbour and about a two hour drive to the Mayan ruins of Knossos.”
“The only thing which marred our stay slightly was indifferent weather on 3 or 4 days of the fortnight. The villa was superb- spacious, comfortable and well-equipped with large grounds, a good-sized pool and stunning views. The owners were friendly and helpful and ensured that we were directed to the delightful taverna ten minutes walk away- the home made orange cake was divine and the rest wasn't bad either! I recommend this villa highly- it accommodated eight adults and four children with ease. A particular pleasure was to make an olive log fire in the evenings in the spacious outdoor eating area and when the blaze had subsided to cook over the red-hot embers whilst sampling the local wine- paradise. Plenty of good beaches, shops and other attractions within easy reach and all the locals are so friendly. The villa is equipped with wheelchair-friendly ramps and an efficient lift as well as easy access to the pool and would suit those with disabilities.”
